First View – Blue Exorcist

Blue Exorcist reviewed

As one member put it, “If Good Omens were to be made into an anime…”  Wonderfully  animated and well paced story.  Blue Exorcist is destined to be up there with the likes of Bleach or D.Grayman.

First View – Tiger and Bunny

Tiger & Bunny reviewed

What might be the most refreshing take on the Superhero genre with wonderfully CG animation and more realistic clutzy superheros with everyday problems. This show takes ‘Mystery Men‘ the NEXT step. I recommend watching for Tiger & Bunny.

First View – Dragon Crisis!

Dragon Crisis! reviewed

We tried out some new hardware to watch shows which glitch a bit. In spite of this, we had a good time with a member’s Atari 2600 console and crowd favorite game, Medival Mayhem. We watched Dragon Crisis. While it’s a good show, most thought you have to watch more to get an idea of what’s going on.

We ran a little too late to play Phantasy Star on the Gamecube but maybe next time.

First View – Freezing

Freezing

Freezing reviewed

We ended up watching his techno take on Queen’s Blade. Less smut more gory life like combat. But the characters can regenerate. Surprising most of the group including one girl would watch more of Freezing. See what the buzz is about and read what our club members thought.

Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt

Oh MY Gaimax!!! Shock Rock, Shock Radio and now Shock Anime? With humour that is literally not just down the toilet but the first half is about a toilet ghost monster. Poo, puke other vile references with even live action explosions of villains. Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt sets a new low for animation. Maybe we should not export our animation over to Japan with this twisted take on our own garbage.

Don’t take my word. See what everyone else is saying about Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt.

First View – Samurai Girls

Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls

Samurai Girls reviewed

Once again Hobby Japan brings another of it’s series of poorly clad characters to life but having a storyline to bring to life would have been better. See what our band of reviewers thought of Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls.

First View – Break Blade

Break Blade reviewed

Finally a mecha anime which makes this genre shinny and new. Where the hero of the story is the only one without super or magical powers and personal conflict and drama balances without the ‘mechs’ being the centerpoint of the story.  Se what our members thoughts of Break Blade.

First View – Cat Shit One

Cat Shit One

Cat Shit One

Adapted from the manga, Apocalypse Meow, this story takes place years after Vietnam with the same characters from the manga.  Impressive computer animation but hardly could be called a series with only one episode. Read what our member thought of Cat Shit One.

Sekirei: Pure Engagement

Seikirei: Pure Engagement reviewed

The first show of the new season and all we could find is a lack of story telling and ability to connect the previous series to the new.  Still the show managed to serve up a fine helping of fan service and comedy. Just not enough to keep some of our members watching.  Check it out for yourself and tell us what you think of Seikirei: Pure Engagement here or on facebook.

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou review

Slapstick humor with panty shots. That pretty well sums up Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou. What can a wannabe saint that ends up finding himself being billed as the next Demon Lord to do?  Obviously to the brunt of attacks and panty shots.  Given the number of hits on the wiki page, this one going to be a hit even with so much a miss.
